The overall feelings are clear that the student athlete has the right to choose whether to attend college or not based on what is being offered and they can choose not to go to school if that is their desire. Participation in college sports should be considered a profession and athletes compensated for their work.

They should get paid a limited amount to help them live and enjoy college. The reasons why are because colleges are already providing student athletes with a scholarship to play, they are students first and athletes second, and lastly, it would be unfair to those that are not athletes.

The reality is though, that there is more than just actual money in hand available to college athletes if they take full advantage of their opportunities. As athletes, these students are not held to the same standard as other students. The question is, should a student athlete get paid for playing a college level sport? No matter how many people feel that athletes should not be paid for their ability, there are just as many people whom feel they should.
