You want to tell what the purpose is of each of your body paragraph. I tend to keep mine short, and use the topic sentences of my body paragraphs to help me write my plan of development. When writing an analytical or informative essay you should remain impersonal. The only time I would recommend using I's and You's might be in a persuasive essay to a certain audience that knows you. Essays are used as assessment at University to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of a topic.

In this structure the similarities and/or differences between two or more items, for example, theories or models, are discussed paragraph by paragraph.

Your assignment task may require you to make a recommendation about the suitability of the items you are comparing.

You may also be asked to choose the best solution and justify your selection, allow space for this in your essay.

In an analytical structure you are required to break the topic into its different components and discuss these in separate paragraphs or sections, demonstrating balance where possible.

Make sure the reader knows how it supports the topic sentence. The short recap is probably a sentence explaining what this paragraph said. Once again you'll need to smoothly flow into the next paragraph. An effective way to argue a point can be to present the opposing view first then counter this view with stronger evidence.Examples of this type of essay include assignments where you are given data such as a case study or scenario, a diagram, graphical information, or a picture and expected to interpret this information to demonstrate your application of knowledge when answering the task.Before you start, it is important to understand what type of essay you are required to write.The language of the question, especially the directive (task) words, will indicate the type of essay and suggest an appropriate structure to follow in your essay.The Thesis Statement is hugely important to your essay. The thing that is most important about a thesis statement is that it needs to be about what you're going to write about. The introduction should have the follwing construction: 1. A reader simply answering no to a question can ruin one of these questions very easily. Otherwise you can include that info in another sentence before it. Good ideas for an attention getter are short anecdotes or a quote (if writing about a book it's best to use a quote that is not from this book). An essay without transitions will be chunky and unappealing.
