Eva is applying early to Emory University and regular decision to University of Washington, UCLA, and Reed College. Our families and communities often define us and our individual worlds.

Once you've determined the requirements for each school, I recommend making yourself a chart with the school name, word limit, and application deadline on one side and the prompt or prompts you need to respond to on the other.

If a college asks you to write about why you're excited to go there, admissions officers want to see evidence that you're genuinely interested.

Reusing an essay about another school and swapping out the names is the fastest way to prove you aren't.
